Highest paying Google Adsense keywords

Google is smart enough to realize that some people will try to look for the highest paying Adsense keywords -- and made sure that people who do will not fully benefit from it.

There was a time when everyone wanted to do a website on "Mesothelioma" when it was reported that advertisers were paying $100+ per click for this keyword. Unfortunately for Adsense publishers chasing this holy grail, all they got was a few cents per click -- definitely NOT the $100 per click they were expecting

Google has this thing called SMARTPRICING which basically discounts the value of clicks on your site. No one knows how this actually works. But it can affect the pricing of the ads on your site. If the advertiser paid for $0.50/click - but your site is smartpriced - then the cost may be discounted lower (e.g. $0.25). So you may try to develop a site based on high paying keywords but if smartpricing gets to you, then you may not get as much per click as what you are expecting from your keywords.

Here is Google's explanation of smart pricing https://adwords.google.com/

"Google's smart pricing feature automatically adjusts the cost of a keyword-targeted content click based on its effectiveness compared to a search click. So if our data shows that a click from a content page is less likely to turn into actionable business results -- such as online sales, registrations, phone calls, or newsletter signups -- we reduce the price you pay for that click."

So chasing after these so called high paying Adsense keywords is often a futile and useless effort if Google deems your site to be nothing but an attempt to chase after these keywords.

How to make a successful popular website?

1. Add More Content
Add content, add content, add content. Before you even register your domain, you should have enough ideas to build 100 pages on your site. Start brainstorming and see what you can come up with in 10 minutes. If that's not enough to fill 50 pages, consider not building the site at all. Having lots of content is important.

2. Keep a simple design
The text content should outweigh the html content. Stay away from heavy flash, java, javascript, etc. Don't add to much stuff like 'best viewed with'... Your website should be viewable with any browser. Keep it clean and professional.

3. Keep the pages small
Smaller is better. Keep it under 15k if you can. Your site should be fast loading, or people will leave. Speed is everything. Next to content, that is. Keeping it under 10k or 5k if you can. Difficult, but people love fast sites. Throw away all the trash on your pages.

4. Content length
Put a new page online every day of about 200 to 500 words. Go to the overture keyword suggester to find ideas of what to write about. Spell check your content. Search engines can do it, and so should you. If you have a blog, go for article-like posts as opposed to the personal diary kinds of posts.

5. Use keywords
Use your keywords in the following places: title, description tag, heading, url, once bold, once italic and once high on the page.

6. Link to other sites
Put 2 links to other, high ranking pages on your site. They should be relevant to the content of that page and use keywords as your link. Don't add every link that's requested. Check their relevance first.

7. Link to your own site
Put links from one page to other relevant pages on your own site. Again: use keywords as your link.

8. Submit your site
Submit your site to Google, AltaVista, Yahoo, Msn, Hotbot, etc. Then forget about that for 6 months. Also submit it to every single directory you can find. Do a check after 6 months and resubmit if you're not listed.

9. Log and track
Most hosts provide these. Don't use a lame graphic counter. Check where your visitors are coming from to find out what traffic methods work best for your site.

10. Write for people
People are not coming to your site for your content. They are coming for their content. Try to write as if you are writing to one specific person, such as a friend of yours who's interested in the same topic. Don't try to write for 'all of your visitors'.

11. Stay ahead
If you know that something big will come out in a few months, build a page about it now. It gives search engines time to index that page so they can feed it to the growing anticipating crowd.

12. Add more content
This is so important: keep adding content. Do this for a year and your site will be a top ranking website within one year. You could've been there now, if you started last year. So start now, so you'll be there next year. You'll thank yourself (and me) later.

Tips for purchase of Immovable Property

1. Invest your hard earned money in projects promoted by renowned developers having proven track record. Do not go by glossy brochures or attractive advertisements. Do not believe the words, "Financial institutions approved projects."

2. Check up the documents with a learned advocate. Ensure that the documents of title of the property you intend to purchase are clear. Defective title will create problems.

3. Always go for a property which has a resale value.

4. Ensure that the building has been constructed as per the sanctioned plan and deviation, if any, is in the allowed limits. Also ensure that it is not in a low-lying area or in a filled-up water body.

5. You may always rope in the services of a reputed real estate agent and fix his commission well in advance.

6. Purchase the property in a developing area. The value of land will appreciate.

7. If you prefer a ready-to-occupy flat, locate it off the main road on a wide street with adequate water supply away from slums, cinema hall, marriage hall, open drain, factories, place of worship but not very far from school, college, commercial complex, temple and hospital.

8. If you buy the flat/building under construction, visit the work site regularly and see the work progress.

9. You may not be a Vaastu believer, but purchase house or flat or land that is Vaastu-friendly from resale point of view.

10. If anyone offers flats/sites for a cheaper rate than the prevailing market rate, there may be certain hidden problems. So, you should be extra-careful on finalisation of such a property.

11. Ensure that the developer has clearance certificates from government departments viz., Electricity Board, Water and Sewage Board, etc..

12. Commencement Certificate and Occupancy Certificate are other important documents that are necessary while buying the flats.

13. Check up the genuineness of the documents with the authorities concerned in person.

14. Ensure Agreement for Sale and Sale Deed, duly stamped, executed and registered are in your possession. Both should contain fair clauses for both the parties.

15. In case of flat purchase, specification of the building, including material used, difference between the carpet area and the super built-up area are the important factors to decide the rate. Other facilities like club house, swimming pool etc., also will have to be considered.

16. Check whether there is adequate water supply and sanitary line facility.

Tips for Purchasing a Home

What are you looking for in a home?
Must it be a bungalow, a condominium, an apartment or a penthouse? The actual area and size will depend on the size of your family as well as your own personal requirements. Think long term. Maybe you and your spouse require just a one-bedroom apartment at this point in time but plan to have two children later. In that case, a two-bedroom or even a three-bedroom is a better option.

Why do you need one?
Are you purchasing it to reside in it? Or do you view property as an investment and you are looking at capital appreciation. If you are buying to reside in it, you may consider a 3-bedroom apartment. But, if you are planning to rent it out, even if you can afford a 3-bedroom apartment, you may want to settle for a 2-bedroom because the chances of giving it out would be easier. Also, if you are looking at capital appreciation, you should consider making the purchase in the suburbs, where the price appreciation will be higher than in the case of prime property.

Where is it going to be?
Have you decided in which city or state you want to buy your home? Are you looking at a place where you can eventually retire? Are you considering your home town or a rural or semi-rural set-up? In that case, do you want to buy land instead and construct your own home? If you are purchasing a home in a rural set up or in an area where you are not currently residing, you may have to give a Power of Attorney to someone you trust to handle all the property matters.

If it is a resale, have you taken a good look at the inside?
Are you happy with the size of the rooms? Would your furniture fit into this house? Does this home receive adequate sunlight? Would you prefer your entrance facing a particular direction? Are you happy with the flooring, wiring and the tiling? Is the paint peeling? Has the plaster cracked? Are you happy with the plumbing? Is there any evidence of termites? Does it have adequate number of bathrooms and toilets? If you had to do work in the house, get an estimate of how much that is going to cost you.

Have you taken other factors into account?
If it is an apartment, you will have to check out the building too. Is parking available? Is it open or covered? Is there any security provided by the society? Is security provided round the clock? Do you know anything about your neighbours? Is the building well maintained? Does it have a garden? Are you on the lookout for a housing complex that also has a pool and a gymnasium? Is the monthly maintenance affordable? What about water supply? Is it 24 hours?

Are there many power cuts in the neighbourhood? What is the distance from your home to the market? Are you comfortable with it? Are you children's schools nearby? What about a hospital or nursing home? What is the distance from the main road? Would you prefer it as far away from the main road as possible. Is public transport easily available? Is there a club nearby? Is there a bank branch in the vicinity or at least an automated teller machine (ATM)? Are you happy with the greenery? How far away is it from your workplace?

Mutation testing is a method for determining if a set of test data or test cases is useful, by deliberately introducing various code changes ('bugs') and retesting with the original test data/cases to determine if the 'bugs' are detected. Proper implementation requires large computational resources

What is Monkey Testing ?

Testing a system or an Application on the fly, i.e just few tests here and there to ensure the system or an application does not crash out.

What is Positive Testing ?

Testing aimed at showing software works. Also known as "test to pass". See also Negative Testing.

What is Negative Testing ?

Testing aimed at showing software does not work. Also known as "test to fail". See also Positive Testing.

What is Path Testing ?

Testing in which all paths in the program source code are tested at least once.

What is Performance Testing ?

Testing conducted to evaluate the compliance of a system or component with specified performance requirements. Often this is performed using an automated test tool to simulate large number of users. Also know as "Load Testing".

What is Ramp Testing ?

Continuously raising an input signal until the system breaks down.

What is Recovery Testing ?

Confirms that the program recovers from expected or unexpected events without loss of data or functionality. Events can include shortage of disk space, unexpected loss of communication, or power out conditions.

What is the Re-testing testing ?

Retesting- Again testing the functionality of the application.

What is the Regression testing ?

Regression- Check that change in code have not effected the working functionality

What is Sanity Testing ?

Brief test of major functional elements of a piece of software to determine if its basically operational.

What is Scalability Testing ?

Performance testing focused on ensuring the application under test gracefully handles increases in work load.

What is Security Testing ?

Testing which confirms that the program can restrict access to authorized personnel and that the authorized personnel can access the functions available to their security level.

What is Stress Testing ?

Stress testing is a form of testing that is used to determine the stability of a given system or entity. It involves testing beyond normal operational capacity, often to a breaking point, in order to observe the results.

What is Smoke Testing ?

A quick-and-dirty test that the major functions of a piece of software work. Originated in the hardware testing practice of turning on a new piece of hardware for the first time and considering it a success if it does not catch on fire.

What is Soak Testing ?

Running a system at high load for a prolonged period of time. For example, running several times more transactions in an entire day (or night) than would be expected in a busy day, to identify and performance problems that appear after a large number of transactions have been executed.

What's the Usability testing ?

Usability testing is for user friendliness.

What's the User acceptance testing ?

User acceptance testing is determining if software is satisfactory to an end-user or customer.

What's the Volume Testing ?

We can perform the Volume testing, where the system is subjected to large volume of data.

Tips for Keeping Your New Year’s Resolutions

If you're like many people, your New Year's resolution may be health-related. Maybe you want to lose weight, start exercising, or reduce the levels of stress in your life. Regardless of your goal, there are some techniques you can use to help you be successful in modifying your behavior.

Choose to adopt a new good behavior rather than trying to shake an engrained bad habit. In studies on behavior change, people were more willing to do something they know is right than to give up something they know is wrong.

Choose resolutions that you've been thinking about for some time. You'll be more successful than people who came up with their resolutions at the last minute (say, on New Year's Eve, for example).

Only make one or two resolutions. Any more than that and you're just setting yourself up for failure.

Make a list if the reasons why you want to change your behavior. Keep this list handy as motivation to stay on course.

Make a list of the barriers that might get in the way of your keeping your resolution and establish contingency plans.

Get support. Surround yourself with people and situations that encourage you in good behaviors. Find a friend who has a similar goal and encourage each other as you make changes in your lives. Enlist the support of your family.

Pay attention to your thinking and try to counter negative ideas like "I'll never succeed" with positive thoughts, like "Today, I made some progress."

Reward yourself for little successes along the way.

Remember, your resolutions are promises to yourself. Respect yourself and do your best to keep those promises. Take the process of behavior change one day at a time. If you can do just a little bit to get yourself going, you'll start to feel the positive effects of the change, which can lead to healthy habits that will last a lifetime.

Every year it’s the same thing - make a list of resolutions that you're determined to keep.

If you're like most people, however, by February the only thing you end up keeping is the list!

On average, only about 20% of us are able to keep our New Year's resolutions. But don't let those statistics get you down.

By following these tips you'll be better equipped to fall into the successful 20% category this year.

Alert! - Virus Spreads on Google's Orkut Network

ALERT....!!!!

About 400,000 members of Google's Orkut social network have been the victims of a spam barrage spreading the W32/KutWormor virus.

The virus is hidden in a spam message containing a New Year's greeting in Portuguese. Once infected the virus spreads using hidden JavaScript and Flash code by sending the same message to connected Orkut members. It also adds the victim to an Orkut community group called "Infected by Orkut Virus."

Meanwhile, analysts with security vendor BitDefender have detected a new Trojan that hijacks Google text advertisements, replacing them with ads from a different provider. Trojan.Qhost.WU modifies the infected computer's hosts file. The modified file contains a line of code that causes the browser to read ads from a server at the given replacement address rather than from Google.

"This is a serious situation that damages users and Webmasters alike," said Attila-Mihaly Balazs, a BitDefender virus analyst, in a statement. "Users are affected because the advertisements and/or the linked sites may contain malicious code, which is a very likely situation, given that they are promoted using malware in the first place. Webmasters are affected because the Trojan takes away viewers and thus a possible money source from their websites."
